Remember I said nothing was easy for this dog. He was tested positive for heart worm. He contracted it and basically your heart or lungs I'm not sure grows worms and they keep multiplying until the animal starts coffing which makes them loose into the blood steam and they can clog an artery then by by.
We took him to the vet to get the treatment. The vet then asked us what is his name?
"Donovan" Sunny said. And me as a Brazilian guy was thinking Donavan hahhaha lol they laughs at me.
The treatment is to give small doses of poison so they get killed and then the animal poops them out or throw them up as vomit. There is a catch though, the animal needs to be sedated or drugged so the blood pumping keeps to the low speed. Donovan was giperactive só think... it was HARD.
We were always calling him Donovan so he learned pretty quickly. He was also potty trained which was awesome. Soon I started calling him "buddy" then "bud bud" then "Doni Bans". He would answer for any of those.
My love for this dog started to grow. He would follow me everywhere at the point that was a bit annoying. He would always want us to pet him. He would lay on the sofa with me to watch TV. That is where I am right now typing on my phone and crying a bit. I miss him so much. I wish I would cuddle him just one more time.
After a month or so he was cured and ready to run. We managed to keep him in a slow gear for that required rest monthand.
At this point he was looking better a bit heavier. His fur was shinny because of the good food but the chain mark on host neck fur was there still.
